Carry out the following steps of procedure after the
power switch has been turned OFF.

16. ADJUSTING THE THREAD TAKE-UP STROKE
1) When sewing heavy-weight materials, move thread guide 1 to the
left (in direction A ) to increase the length of thread pulled out by
the thread take-up.
2) When sewing light-weight materials, move thread guide 1 to the
right (in direction B ) to decrease the length of thread pulled out by
the thread take-up.
3) Normally, thread guide 1 is positioned in a way that marker line C
is aligned with the center of the screw.
16. AJUSTE DEL RECORRIDO DEL RECOGEDOR DEL HILO
1) Si cose telas pesadas, mueva la guía del hilo 1 hacia la izquierda
en la dirección A para aumentar el largo del hilo que tira el
recogedor.
2) Al coser telas livianas, mueva la guía del hilo 1 hacia la derecha
en la dirección B lo que disminuye el largo del hilo tirado por el
recogedor.
3) Normalmente, la guía del hilo 1 está posicionada de manera tal
que la linea demarcadora C quede alineada con el centro del
tornillo.

Die folgenden Schritte nach Ausschalten des

16. EINSTELLEN DES FADENHEBELHUBS
1) Zum Nähen schwerer Stoffe die Fadenführung 1 nach
links (in Richtung A ) verschieben, um die vom Fadenhebel
herausgezogene Fadenlänge zu vergrößern.
2) Zum Nähen leichter Stoffe die Fadenführung 1 nach rechts
(in Richtung B ) verschieben, um die vom Fadenhebel
herausgezogene Fadenlänge zu verringern.
3) Normalerweise steht die Fadenführung 1 so, daß die
Markierungslinie C auf die Mitte der Schraube ausgerichtet ist.
16. REGLAGE DE LA COURSE DE RELEVAGE DU FIL
1) Lors de la couture de tissus lourds, amener le guide du fi l 1 vers
la gauche A pour augmenter la longueur du fi l tiré par le relevage
du fi l.
2) Lors de la couture de tissus légers, amener le guide du fi l 1 vers
la droite B pour réduire la longueur du fi l tiré par le relevage du fi l.
3) Normalement, le guide du fi l 1 est positionné de façon à ce que le
trait de repère C soit aligné sur le centre de la vis.
16. REGOLAZIONE DELLA CORSA DEL GUIDAFILO
1) Quando si procede alla cucitura di tessuti pesanti, spostare il
guidafi lo verso sinistra (nel senso indicato dalla freccia A ) per
aumentare la lughezza del fi lo estratto dal guidafi lo.
2) Quando si procede alla cucitura di tessuti Ieggeri, spostare il
passafi lo 1 verso destra (ne senso indicato dalla freccia B ) per
diminuire la lunghezza del fi lo estratto dal guidafi lo.
3) Solitamente il guidafi lo 1 viene posizionato in maniera tale che la
riga di riferimento C sia allineata al centro della vite.
17. NEEDLE-TO-HOOK RELATIONSHIP

Carry out the following steps of procedure after the
power switch has been turned OFF.

1. Adjust the timing between the needle and the hook as follows :
A
1) Turn the handwheel to bright the needle bar down to the lowest
point of its stroke, and loosen setscrew 1 .

2) [For a DB needle] Align marker line A on needle bar 2 with the bot-
tom end of needle bar lower bushing 3 , then tighten setscrew 1 .
[For a DA needle] Align marker line C on needle bar 2 with the bot-
tom end of needle bar lower bushing 3 , then tighten setscrew 1 .

3) [For a DB needle] Loosen the three hook setscrews, turn the
handwheel and align marker line B on ascending needle bar 2
with the bottom end of needle bar lower bushing 3 .
[For a DA needle] Loosen the three hook setscrews, turn the
handwheel and align marker line D on ascending needle bar 2
with the bottom end of needle bar lower bushing 3 .
4) After making the adjustments mentioned in the above steps, align
hook blade point 5 with the center of needle 4 . Provide a clear-
ance of 0.04 mm to 0.1 mm (reference value) between the needle
and the hook, then securely tighten setscrews in the hook.
