Installing the battery
Open the battery cover by lightly pressing the cover with
your thumb down by around 5 cm and then lifting it up.
Connect the battery plug with the jack in the battery
compartment, ensuring that the red wire points toward
the marking (see illustration). Place the battery in the bat-
tery compartment with the labeling facing upward and
replace the cover.
Charging the battery
The battery must be charged after it has been installed.
To do this, first connect the plug-in power unit to the
charger.
Place the mobile unit (handset) in the charger.
The handset is then charged. The
charging status is shown on the 3rd
line in the display. The LED flashes
while charging is in progress and
lights up permanently when charging
has been completed.
Initial charging lasts around 3.5 hours and should not be
disrupted. Charging should only take place at room tem-
peratures between 5 and 25 C°. The battery pack must
be charged when »Batt empty« appears in the display,
or when the handset can not be switched on.
The vibrator function and automatic accepting of calls
are not activated when the handset is placed in the char-
ger.
