Note:
1. Before you start the measurement, disconnect all test conductors from
the measurement appliance.
2. After setting the rotary switch to the position
minutes before proceeding. It is necessary to obtain precise readings.
3. The maximum measurement range of the measurement appliance for
the alternating/direct current is 600 A. Measurement of higher values
may have larger measurement error.
In case of measurement of direct current, the display may show the direction
of the current. Positive value means the direction from the front side to the
rear side of the measurement appliance (Tip: the current direction is opposite
to the direction in which the electrons move.)
Resistance measurement
1. Connect the black test conductor to the terminal COM and the red test
conductor to the terminal
2. Set the rotary switch to the position .
3. Connect the test conductors to the measured item.
4. The measured value will be shown on the display.
Note:
1. If the resistance is higher than
the reading stabilises. This is normal when measuring high resistance.
2. If the input terminals are in the disconnect circuit status, the display will
show an indicator of exceeding the OL range.
3. Before starting the measurement, disconnect the power source of the
measured circuit and carefully discharge all condensers.
Diode test
1. Connect the black test conductor to the COM terminal and the red test
conductor to the
terminal (the red test conductor is positive +).
2. Set the rotary switch to the position
until the display shows the symbol
3. Connect the red test conductor to the anode of the measured diode and
the black test conductor to the cathode.
4. On the display you can read the approximate voltage loss in the perme-
able direction of the diode.
Permeability test
1. Connect the black test conductor to the terminal COM and the red test
conductor to the terminal
2. Set the rotary switch to the position
display shows the symbol

3. Connect the test conductor to the measured circuit.
4. If the resistance is lower than ca 30 Ω, the built in buzzer will sound.

Než začnete EM400 používat, pečlivě si přečtěte tento návod k obsluze.
Jsou v něm zvýrazněny zvláště důležité pasáže, které pojednávají o zásadách
bezpečnosti práce s tímto přístrojem. Zabráníte tak možnému úrazu elek-
trickým proudem nebo poškození přístroje. Klešťový multimetr byl navržen
v souladu s normou IEC-61010 vztahující se na elektronické měřicí přístroje
spadající do kategorie (CAT II 600V), do bezpečnostní třídy II a pro úroveň
znečištění 2.

Automated power supply disconnection
If you do not use the measurement appliance or if you do not turn the rotary
switch for 15 minutes, the measurement appliance will turn off automatically
and will get to a standby mode. You can cancel the standby mode anytime
by pushing any key.
MAINTENANCE
Regularly clean the casing with a moist cloth and a mild detergent. Do
not use solvents or abrasive materials. Any impurities or moisture at the
terminals may affect the measurement values. When cleaning the terminals,
proceed as follows:
1. Turn off the measurement apparatus and disconnect all test conductors.
2. Shake it to remove any impurities that may be at the terminals
3. Dip a clean cloth into alcohol. Clean the vicinity of each terminal thor-
oughly. After the cleaning, the multimeter may only be used when it is
absolutely dry.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
When the display shows a weak battery indicator
to be replaced. Before replacement of a battery, the measurement points
must be disconnected from the measured circuit or appliance. When replac-
ing the batteries, first unscrew the screw of the battery cover and remove
the cover. Then replace the depleted battery for a new battery of the same
type and take care to keep the correct polarity. Put the cover in its place and
screw the screw back.
Warning:
Before opening the casing or removing the battery cover, disconnect the
test conductors from the measurement apparatus and remove the clamps
from the measured conductor.

• Zkontrolujte izolaci na měřicích sondách a čelistích. Při poškození izolace
hrozí nebezpečí úrazu elektrickým proudem. Poškozené měřicí sondy
nebo čelisti nepoužívejte!
• Neměřte napětí vyšší jak 600 V, nebo proud vyšší jak 600 A!
• Neměřte proud, je-li napětí naprázdno větší než 250 V v rozpojeném
obvodu.
• Svorka „COM" musí být vždy připojena na vztažnou měřicí zem.
• Zjistíte-li abnormální výsledky měření, multimetr nepoužívejte. Pokud si
nejste jisti příčinou závady, kontaktujte servisní středisko.
• Neměřte vyšší napětí a proudy, než jaké jsou vyznačeny na předním pa-
nelu multimetru a čelistích. Hrozí nebezpečí úrazu elektrickým proudem
a poškození multimetru!
• Před používáním si ověřte, zda multimetr správně pracuje. Otestujte
obvod, u kterého znáte jeho elektrické veličiny.
• Než multimetr připojíte k obvodu, u kterého se chystáte měřit proud,
vypněte napájení daného obvodu.
• Nepoužívejte a neskladujte multimetr v prostředích s vysokou teplotou,
prašností a vlhkostí. Nedoporučujeme také používat přístroj v prostředí,
kde se může vyskytovat silné magnetické pole nebo kde hrozí nebezpečí
výbuchu či požáru.
• Při výměně baterie, nebo jiné části multimetru, použijte náhradní díly
stejného typu a specifikací. Vyměňujte při vypnutém a odpojeném
multimetru!
• Nepozměňujte nebo nijak neupravujte vnitřní obvody multimetru!
• Dbejte zvýšené opatrnosti při měřeních napětí vyšších jak 30 V AC rms,
42 V špičkových nebo 60 V DC. Nepoužívejte snímač proudu nad jeho
jmenovitý kmitočet max. 60 Hz. Hrozí nebezpečí úrazu elektrickým
proudem!
• Při manipulaci s měřicími hroty se ujistěte, že je držíte až za zábranou
prstů.
